About The Position

The Banquet Server is responsible for serving food and drinks to guests during multi-course banquet events, adhering to established service standards. This role also involves assisting with all stages of banquet functions, from initial setup to final breakdown. The position requires a high level of customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace.
  • Requires good communication skills, verbal, written and electronic.
  • Must have excellent leadership capability and customer relations skills.
  • Must be detail oriented with outstanding organizational and communication skills.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Must possess basic computational ability.
  • Ability to analyze, foresee user needs, and make judgments to ensure proper tools are provided at property level.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy and collect accurate information to resolve conflicts.
  • Knowledge of table and bar service.
  • Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware.
  • Ability to describe all menu items and methods of preparation.
  • High school or equivalent education required.
  • 1 to 3 years of high-volume banquet service experience required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age to serve alcohol.
  • Safe Server Alcohol & Food certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Hotel/resort banquet experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve guests food and drinks during events as required.
  • Answer guest questions regarding buffet or menu items.
  • Bus and set tables, including condiments as needed.
  • Assist with event room set-up, including tablecloths, dishes, and silverware.
  • Check all china, glassware, silverware, and linen items needed for the event.
  • Be aware of all upcoming groups and major conventions.
  • Read assigned banquet menus and understand specific items.
  • Ensure food is served at the appropriate temperature and entrée is placed correctly.
  • Handle all equipment (china, glassware, silverware, linen, props) properly and ensure proper storage after use.
  • Participate in the deep cleaning of the outlet.
  • Assist all guests professionally and courteously, maintaining high customer service standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.
  • Assist with any guest inquiry.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by direct and indirect Supervisors.
