About The Position

The Banquet Server ensures quality customer service to guests during events and banquets. The role involves setting up assigned tables and serving food and beverages according to hotel specifications and group requirements, while maintaining clean, sanitary, and organized work areas and equipment. The position requires a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts, to meet business needs.

Requirements

Ability to communicate satisfactorily with guests, management, and co-workers in a way they can understand.
High school graduate or equivalent.
Meet the minimum age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages.
ServSafe and/or food safety training.
Alcohol awareness training, such as TIPS.
Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for the clientele.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in banquet operations and/or hospitality.
Some college education.
Bilingual English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

Set up assigned tables.
Greet guests upon arrival and assist them with seating.
Take and retrieve alcoholic beverage orders, using suggestive selling techniques when specified in function requirements.
Serve food courses and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with departmental standards and function requirements.
Retrieve and serve beverages and food orders to guest tables according to hotel specifications and group requirements.
Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and maintain positive guest relations.
Be familiar with hotel services and features, as well as local attractions and activities, to respond accurately to guest inquiries.
Handle guest complaints and ensure guest satisfaction.
Maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned stations, service areas, work areas, and equipment.
Maintain food and beverage safety and quality according to hotel, Shaner, and franchise specifications.
Perform other duties as assigned.
