About The Position

Watermark BR is seeking a full-time Banquet Captain to supervise and assist with serving food and beverages at banquet functions in accordance with hotel standards. The role includes preparing and setting up function rooms, coordinating with event contacts, responding to guest needs and concerns, and ensuring banquet spaces and supplies are properly maintained. This is a tipped position.

Responsibilities

Supervise and assist with serving food and beverages at banquet functions according to hotel standards.
Respond to guest needs promptly and handle guest problems, complaints, and accidents; communicate concerns to management when necessary.
Communicate problems and issues to the Food and Beverage Manager or Director.
Assist the Banquet Manager or Food and Beverage Manager or Director with creating the Banquet Work Schedule and completing Banquet Wage Progress Reports.
Inspect meeting and banquet setups against the Banquet Event Order (BEO).
Act as liaison between the Sales/Catering Manager and the in-house meeting or banquet contact.
Perform preparatory tasks and side work to ensure guests are served promptly and efficiently.
Read and follow the BEO and become familiar with the menu for the assigned function.
Serve guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
Set tables according to hotel standards.
Maintain the banquet storeroom in a neat and orderly manner, stocked with supplies needed for food service functions.
Prepare rooms according to the BEO and the requirements of the meal function.
Follow money-handling procedures when serving guests.
Clean banquet spaces after functions and ensure equipment and supplies are properly stored and restocked.
Remain attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers, and fellow employees.
