About The Position

Watermark BR is seeking a part-time Outlet Busser (Server Assistant) to support Servers and Bartenders in the restaurant. The role includes providing bread, water, coffee, tea, and other non-alcoholic beverage service; clearing and resetting tables; replenishing supplies; and helping ensure food is served on time. The Busser keeps tables and work areas clean, stocked, and presentable, and works with the service team to maintain high standards of hospitality, cleanliness, and sanitation throughout the restaurant and hotel. This is a tipped position.

The position reports to the Restaurant Manager and Food & Beverage Director. Watermark BR is a hotel in downtown Baton Rouge and part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field.
• RV Server Permit.
• Parish ABC Card.

Responsibilities

• Approach guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Provide water and bread service throughout meals.
• Assist with serving coffee, tea, and other non-alcoholic beverages.
• Know the restaurant’s food and non-alcoholic beverage menus and answer questions confidently.
• Clear, sanitize, and reset tables in the assigned section according to restaurant standards and sanitation guidelines, including pre-bussing.
• Keep work areas clean and properly stocked for each meal period.
• Complete opening, closing, and cleaning duties according to established checklists.
• Remove dishes, silverware, and glasses from hotel public areas, including guest-room floors.
• Work with servers to maintain standards of service, cleanliness, and sanitation throughout the restaurant and hotel.
• Foster a team-oriented workplace and provide service and hospitality beyond industry standards when possible.
• Assist Servers and Bartenders with tasks such as filling breadbaskets, watering glasses, clearing empty plates, replenishing table supplies, and helping ensure food is served on time.
• Keep tables presentable with clean china, glassware, silverware, and linen.
