About The Position

Watermark BR is seeking a part-time Room Service Server. Reporting to the Outlet Supervisors and Director of Food & Beverage, the Room Service Server provides guests with attentive, courteous, efficient, and high-quality service. The position serves food and beverages, handles orders and payments, and supports the operation of the restaurant, lounges, and room service. This is a tipped position. The role is at Watermark BR, a hotel in downtown Baton Rouge and part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and/or preparation through experience in a hotel or related field.
• Experience in fine dining is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Know the organization of the restaurants, lounges, and room service, as well as the functions of each job position.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of menus and current specials in applicable outlets.
• Serve guests’ food and beverage requirements attentively, courteously, and efficiently.
• Be familiar with operating the P.O.S. system.
• Perform cashiering functions, including closing checks and preparing end-of-shift paperwork.
• Perform opening and closing procedures and side-work duties according to station rotation assignments and established checklists.
• Answer the telephone according to standards.
• Consistently upsell food, beverages, and promotional items to guests.
• Receive and deliver food and beverage orders and collect payment.
