About The Position

The Banquet Captain supervises and coordinates all aspects of banquet functions to support successful event execution and guest satisfaction. The role oversees banquet servers, bartenders, and setup crews; ensures event setup and service meet hotel standards; and serves as the primary point of contact among the banquet team, kitchen, event organizers, and guests during functions.

Responsibilities

• Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and ensure setups and services are completed according to specifications.
• Supervise banquet servers, bartenders, and setup crews to ensure efficient, professional service.
• Conduct pre-event staff meetings to review assignments, service procedures, and event details.
• Communicate with event planners, meeting organizers, and guests, addressing concerns promptly.
• Inspect event spaces before functions for cleanliness, proper setup, and compliance with hotel standards.
• Coordinate with the kitchen, audio-visual, and other departments for seamless event execution.
• Oversee food and beverage service, ensuring it is timely and accurate and that guests are satisfied.
• Manage and monitor banquet area breakdown and cleanup after events.
• Assist with training, coaching, and evaluating banquet staff performance.
• Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations.
• Handle guest billing, gratuities, and reports as required by management.
