About The Position
The Banquet Captain leads banquet event setup and breakdown, coordinates timely meal service, and guides the banquet team in delivering excellent guest experiences at the Tucson Marriott University Park. The role also handles audio-visual setup and troubleshooting and assists with scheduling, training, and inventory. Compensation is $19.75–$20.74 per hour; actual pay may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
Requirements
- Customer service experience.
- At least 6 months of banquet food service experience.
- Leadership potential or experience, including willingness to guide a team and step in where needed.
- Food and alcohol certifications, or willingness to complete them within 90 days.
- Physical stamina to lift, bend, walk, and stand throughout the shift.
Responsibilities
- Lead banquet event setup and breakdown, ensuring linens, silverware, and china meet quality standards.
- Coordinate service so meals are served smoothly and on time.
- Guide and motivate the banquet team to deliver strong guest experiences.
- Set up and troubleshoot audio-visual equipment.
- Assist with scheduling, training, and inventory.
