About The Position
The Banquet Captain supervises and coordinates all aspects of banquet functions to support successful event execution and guest satisfaction. The role oversees banquet servers and bartenders, ensures that setup and service meet hotel standards, and serves as the main point of contact between the banquet team, kitchen, and event organizers during functions.
Responsibilities
- Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and ensure setups and services are completed according to specifications.
- Supervise banquet servers, bartenders, and setup crews to ensure efficient, professional service throughout each event.
- Conduct pre-event meetings to review staff assignments, service procedures, and event details.
- Greet and communicate with event planners, meeting organizers, and guests; address issues promptly and support guest satisfaction.
- Inspect event spaces before functions for cleanliness, proper setup, and compliance with hotel standards.
- Coordinate with the kitchen, audio-visual, and other departments to ensure seamless event execution.
- Oversee food and beverage service, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and guest satisfaction.
- Manage and monitor banquet-area breakdown and cleanup after events.
- Assist with training, coaching, and evaluating banquet staff performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations.
- Handle guest billing, gratuities, and reports as required by management.
