About The Position

The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety division is hiring full-time Banquet Captains for Three Leaf Catering and The Morris Inn in its campus Hospitality department. The role delivers high-quality customer service to event clients, campus partners, and university vendors, maintaining positive and professional working relationships. The Banquet Captain oversees food and beverage service during events, prepares by reviewing assigned events and banquet event orders (BEOs), coordinates with event specialists, ensures event spaces are clean and ready, communicates with clients, and manages problems and last-minute changes.

Requirements

• Must be available to work Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
• Ability to manage people and time effectively.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, up to six hours at a time.
• Ability to follow food safety procedures for handling, storing, and serving food products.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the smooth execution of food and beverage service throughout events.
• Review upcoming assigned events and banquet event orders (BEOs) in the office.
• Contact the event specialist who planned each event to clarify details and ask questions.
• Ensure event spaces are clean and ready before vendor arrival and that setup is executed flawlessly.
• Maintain ongoing communication with clients to meet and exceed customer expectations through high-quality service.
• Manage problems, navigate last-minute changes, and address issues that arise.
• Follow food safety procedures for handling, storing, and serving food products.

Benefits

• $19.50 per hour plus gratuity
