About The Position

The Banquet Captain at Ocotillo Golf Club oversees and coordinates all aspects of banquet and event operations. This detail-oriented, customer-focused role requires strong leadership skills and ensures seamless event execution from setup through breakdown. The Banquet Captain works with event planners, clients, and internal teams, leads banquet staff, and helps ensure guests receive exceptional service.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Banquet Captain or in a similar supervisory role in the hospitality industry.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Knowledge of food and beverage service and event planning.

Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate banquet and event operations to ensure successful execution.
Collaborate with event planners, clients, and internal teams to understand event requirements and expectations.
Supervise servers, bartenders, and support staff, providing clear instructions and guidance.
Oversee banquet-space setup and breakdown, including placement of tables, chairs, linens, and decorations.
Conduct pre-event inspections to confirm details are in place.
Interact with clients and guests, address concerns promptly and professionally, and work to exceed expectations.
Train and mentor banquet staff on service standards, procedures, and customer interaction.
Conduct pre-event briefings to communicate event details and expectations.
Monitor food and beverage service quality and address service issues or implement improvements as needed.
