About The Position

The Bank Teller serves as the primary point of contact for customers conducting routine financial transactions. The role requires accuracy, strong customer service skills, and adherence to bank policies and regulatory requirements to support a positive customer experience and secure handling of funds. The teller works in an indoor branch environment with regular customer interaction and standard branch hours, including some Saturdays as scheduled.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and basic math and cash-handling accuracy.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Basic computer proficiency, including banking software and POS systems.
Integrity and trustworthiness in handling money and confidential information.
Strong verbal communication and active listening skills.
Problem-solving and conflict-resolution ability.
Team-oriented approach and a positive, professional demeanor.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 15 lbs.

Nice To Haves

Prior cash-handling, retail, or customer service experience.
Prior banking or financial services experience.
Bilingual skills.

Responsibilities

Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, and check cashing.
Balance the cash drawer daily, maintain required cash limits, and promptly report discrepancies.
Verify customer identification and signatures in compliance with bank policy and regulatory requirements.
Detect and report suspicious activity in accordance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies.
Maintain the confidentiality of customer account information.
Respond to customer inquiries and resolve basic account issues, escalating complex issues to appropriate staff.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional teller station.
Perform other branch operational duties as assigned, such as opening and closing procedures, night drop processing, and ATM balancing.
