About The Position

The Bakery Clerk proofs and bakes unfinished bakery goods according to product-handling information, using ovens and other equipment. The role unpacks frozen bakery goods and displays appropriate quantities based on production charts, while following safe-handling and storage instructions. The clerk packages and decorates bakery products, supports special orders, and helps ensure products are fresh, accurately priced, and presented to company standards. The position also includes receiving and storing shipments, maintaining food safety and cleanliness, assisting members, and following club policies and procedures. Full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Frequently lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds; may need to lift and move heavier or awkward objects over 50 pounds with assistance.
• Occasionally bend, handle, pull, reach, push, or stoop to examine or scan merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Answer questions and recommend bakery items; answer member calls and take special orders.
• Proof and bake unfinished bakery goods using ovens and other equipment and following product-handling information.
• Use bakery production charts to guide production and display quantities.
• Gather products for preparation for the next business day.
• Package freshly baked goods, including cookies, Danish pastries, muffins, rolls, breads, pies, and cakes.
• Unpack frozen bakery goods and display appropriate amounts based on production chart recommendations.
• Decorate special-order or display-case products.
• Rotate and store bakery products according to food-safety, freshness, and product-handling procedures.
• Receive, inspect, and store bakery shipments.
• Ensure products are fresh and meet company quality standards; check daily for out-of-date products and follow salvage and stale-product procedures.
• Generate labels and price tickets, perform price checks when needed, and ensure items are accurately priced.
• Clean and sanitize bakery equipment, display fixtures, and food surfaces, including ovens, utensils, refrigerated cases, racks, and tables.
• Operate and handle bakery equipment using safe work methods and applicable procedures.
• Maintain club policies and procedures and support compliance.
• Provide friendly service, resolve or escalate member concerns, and contribute to a safe, positive member experience.
• Work with the team to maintain club standards, including stocked items, promotional plans, accurate signage, and clean, organized spaces.
• Access and read department production or financial performance reports and understand how execution affects the business.
• Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
