About The Position

The Autos Cashier is part of a retail sales team focused on providing excellent customer care, promoting sales and service, and helping the store achieve its sales goals. The role requires proactive customer engagement, teamwork and individual initiative, a strong work ethic, and adherence to Pick-n-Pull policies and procedures. The position may offer opportunities to advance to Parts Specialist and Retail Sales Lead through product knowledge, strong performance, and positive evaluations. The Autos Cashier is scheduled during peak customer traffic, which may include weekends, sale days, holidays, and other busy periods. The role supports store operations and safety, handles customer transactions, and performs assigned housekeeping and facility tasks. Work takes place indoors and outdoors in an auto salvage yard, with exposure to changing weather, dust, automotive fluids, and noise.

Requirements

Customer service experience, or the ability and aptitude to perform effectively in customer-facing roles.
Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime.
Ability to work at any nearby store location assigned by management.
Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stretch, and lift up to 40 pounds; use manual dexterity for assigned tasks; and remain on one's feet for the entire work shift.
Sufficient vision to perform job functions safely and effectively.

Nice To Haves

Experience handling customer payments using multiple payment methods.
Fluency in Spanish.
Familiarity with automotive parts, including recognizing parts and understanding basic product details.

Responsibilities

Work safely, promote the Pick-n-Pull Safety Culture, follow safety requirements, collaborate with a safety buddy, and correctly wear required personal protective equipment.
Collaborate with the team to achieve individual and shared goals and desired results.
Welcome customers promptly and proactively engage with them to provide assistance.
Complete sales training, apply the Pick-n-Pull 5 Step Sales Model, and continue building skills through ongoing training.
Follow loss prevention, risk management, quality assurance, and cash-handling guidelines.
Recognize when a customer situation requires leadership support and promptly involve a manager.
Support store operations through housekeeping, janitorial, and other assigned duties, which may include cleaning tires, carrying batteries, and mopping floors.
Maintain integrity in every interaction and transaction.
Follow company policies and procedures.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
