About The Position

Thornton Chevrolet is hiring an experienced Automotive Service Technician for its service department in Manchester, Pennsylvania. The technician will perform quality repairs and maintain a productive workflow. Internal transmission diagnosis and repairs are a required part of the position; previous experience is preferred, but the dealership is willing to train the right candidate. A willingness to learn and perform this work is required. The dealership describes the shop as well-equipped and climate-controlled, with assigned technician bays, an in-ground alignment rack with Hunter alignment equipment, a Hunter tire machine, a GM tire balancer, and GM factory diagnostic tools. Compensation is flat-rate based on experience, with production bonuses. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM–5:00 PM, and one Saturday per month, 7:00 AM–12:00 PM.

Requirements

Experience as an automotive technician with strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills.
Willingness to learn and perform internal transmission diagnosis and repairs.
Motivation, dependability, and ability to maintain a productive workflow.
Ability to perform engine, drivetrain, electrical, and general mechanical repairs.
Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

Previous internal transmission repair experience.
GM experience.
ASE certifications.
