About The Position

Auto-Wares Group of Companies is hiring a full-time Counterperson for its Lafayette Auto Supply team in Lafayette, Indiana. The role focuses on helping customers identify and purchase appropriate automotive parts and services, providing accurate and efficient expertise, and supporting daily store operations. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, with Saturdays on rotation. Store hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to noon.

Requirements

• At least two years of experience in the automotive field.
• Customer-focused approach and strong communication skills.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license.
• No major driving violations.
• If over 25 years old, no more than two moving violations in the past three years; if under 25, no more than two moving violations in the past five years.
• No more than one at-fault accident.
• Must meet the position’s physical requirements, including completing a pre-employment physical and drug test.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with both arms.

Responsibilities

• Create positive experiences through customer interactions.
• Handle customer interactions with a customer-focused approach and provide efficient, accurate expertise.
• Complete sales through phone calls, in-person communication, and other methods.
• Develop thorough knowledge of the parts and services offered.
• Offer customers available product options and support their needs in keeping with the company’s “Never Say No” values.
• Help store personnel maintain a clean and organized store.
• Support daily store operations by processing returns and assisting newer store personnel.
