About The Position

Competition Subaru of Smithtown is seeking a dependable, motivated Parts Counterperson to support its busy dealership team. The role assists retail customers at the front counter, serves internal technicians, and processes online and e-commerce orders. Counter staff also help receive shipments, stock shelves, and keep inventory organized. Prior parts counter experience is required, but dealership experience is not; dealership training is provided to help the successful candidate learn the role.

Requirements

Prior parts counter experience in automotive, aftermarket, heavy equipment, power sports, hardware, or general retail parts is required.
Must be reliable and punctual and able to work Saturdays.
Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift items up to 50 lbs to stock shelves and handle inventory.
Strong customer service skills, basic computer literacy, attention to detail, and a team-first attitude.
High school diploma or equivalent.
A valid driver’s license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet and assist retail customers, help identify the correct parts, check availability, and process payments.
Unload incoming shipments, stock shelves, organize inventory, and keep bin locations clean and accurate.
Process, pull, package, and complete online and e-commerce parts orders accurately and efficiently.
Pull parts for shop technicians and bill them onto service repair orders.
Answer incoming calls, provide accurate price quotes, and check stock status.
Collaborate with the counter team on daily stock receiving, inventory counts, and shop support.
