About The Position

As a Field Auto Damage Trainee, you will help customers after accidents by inspecting and assessing vehicle damage, estimating repair costs, negotiating equitable settlements, and coordinating with body shops, rental companies, and parts providers. The role involves consulting with involved parties, reviewing insurance contracts, inspecting vehicles, writing estimates, managing rental cars, and resolving customer concerns to support a positive customer experience and satisfaction.

The position is not remote. The employee will work in the assigned territory covering the Evansville, Indiana area and will be assigned a GEICO fleet vehicle. The paid trainee program includes three weeks of required hands-on training at GEICO’s Ashburn, Virginia facility and two weeks at a field training center in New York, Texas, or California, with mentor support. Licensing and continuing education are provided at no cost.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license that meets company underwriting guidelines required.
• Strong customer service, interpersonal, problem-solving, and empathy skills.
• Ability to adapt, pay attention to detail, prioritize, and multitask across platforms.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Customer-facing experience preferred.
• Experience in high-volume call centers with KPIs and measurable goals preferred.
• Active adjuster’s license preferred; training and exam fees are provided.
• College degree preferred.
