About The Position

The Field Auto Damage Trainee helps customers after an accident by inspecting and assessing vehicle damage, estimating repair costs, negotiating equitable settlements, and working with body shops, rental companies, and parts providers. The role involves consulting with involved parties, reviewing insurance contracts, inspecting vehicles, writing estimates, managing rental cars, and resolving customer concerns to support a positive customer experience.

This is not a remote role. The trainee works in the Wilmington/Fayetteville, North Carolina territory and is assigned a GEICO fleet vehicle. The paid trainee program includes three weeks of required hands-on training at GEICO’s Ashburn, Virginia facility and two weeks at a field training center in New York, Texas, or California, with mentor support. Licensing and continuing education are provided at no cost.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license that meets company underwriting guidelines.
• Strong customer service, interpersonal, problem-solving, and empathy skills.
• Ability to adapt, pay attention to detail, prioritize, and multitask across platforms.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Customer-facing experience.
• Experience in high-volume call centers with KPIs and measurable goals.
• Active adjusters license; training and exam fees are provided.
• College degree.
