About The Position

As a Field Auto Damage Trainee at GEICO, you will help customers after an accident by inspecting and assessing vehicle damage, estimating repair costs, negotiating equitable settlements, and working with body shops, rental companies, and parts providers. You will consult with involved parties, review insurance contracts, inspect vehicles, write estimates, manage rental cars, and resolve customer concerns to support a positive customer experience and satisfaction.

The position is not remote and covers the Chicago, Illinois area. GEICO assigns a fleet vehicle. The paid trainee program includes three weeks of required hands-on training at the Ashburn, Virginia facility and two weeks at a field training center in New York, Texas, or California, with mentors. Licensing and continuing education are provided at no cost.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license that meets company underwriting guidelines required.
• Strong customer service, interpersonal, problem-solving, and empathy skills.
• Ability to adapt, pay attention to detail, prioritize, and multitask across platforms.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Customer-facing experience preferred.
• Experience in high-volume call centers with KPIs and measurable goals preferred.
• Active adjusters license preferred; training and exam fees are provided.
• College degree preferred.
