About The Position

As a Field Auto Damage Trainee at GEICO, you will support customers after vehicle accidents by inspecting and assessing damage, estimating repair costs, negotiating equitable settlements, and working with body shops, rental companies, and parts providers. You will consult with involved parties, review insurance contracts, write estimates, manage rental cars, and resolve customer concerns to help deliver a positive experience and drive customer satisfaction.

The position includes GEICO’s paid trainee program: three weeks of required hands-on training at its Ashburn, Virginia facility and two weeks at a field training center in New York, Texas, or California, with mentor support. A GEICO fleet vehicle is assigned for work in the Loudon County/Fairfax, Virginia area. The starting rate is $32.05 per hour, with a stated annual salary range of $32.05–$50.36 per hour or $64,575 annually as the listed starting annual amount. GEICO does not sponsor new employment authorization applicants for this position.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license that meets company underwriting guidelines.
• Strong customer service, interpersonal, problem-solving, and empathy skills.
• Ability to adapt, pay attention to detail, prioritize, and multitask across platforms.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Customer-facing experience.
• Experience in high-volume call centers with KPIs and measurable goals.
• Active adjusters license; training and exam fees are provided.
• College degree.
