Auto Damage Trainee (Field)
About The Position
As a Field Auto Damage Trainee, you will support customers after an accident by inspecting and assessing vehicle damage, estimating repair costs, negotiating equitable settlements, and coordinating with body shops, rental companies, and parts providers. The role includes consulting with involved parties, reviewing insurance contracts, inspecting vehicles, writing estimates, managing rental cars, and resolving customer concerns to provide a positive experience. The position is field-based and is not remote. The assigned GEICO fleet vehicle will cover the Redwood City, California area. GEICO provides a paid trainee program that includes three weeks of required hands-on training at its Ashburn, Virginia facility and two weeks at a field training center in New York, Texas, or California, with mentor support. Licensing and continuing education are provided at no cost.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license that meets company underwriting guidelines.
- Strong customer service, interpersonal, problem-solving, and empathy skills.
- Adaptability, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and multitask across platforms.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Customer-facing experience.
- Experience in high-volume call centers with KPIs and measurable goals.
- Active adjuster's license; training and exam fees are provided.
- College degree.
Responsibilities
