About The Position

As a Field Auto Damage Trainee, you will help customers after an accident by inspecting and assessing vehicle damage, estimating repair costs, negotiating equitable settlements, and working with body shops, rental companies, and parts providers. The role includes consulting with involved parties, reviewing insurance contracts, inspecting vehicles, writing estimates, managing rental cars, and resolving customer concerns. This is not a remote role; the territory is the New Haven, Connecticut area, and a GEICO fleet vehicle is assigned. The paid trainee program includes three weeks of required hands-on experience at GEICO’s Ashburn, Virginia training facility and two weeks at a field training center in New York, Texas, or California, with mentors. Licensing and continuing education are provided at no cost.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license that meets company underwriting guidelines required.
• Strong customer service, interpersonal, problem-solving, and empathy skills.
• Adaptable, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize and multitask across platforms.
• Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Customer-facing experience preferred.
• Experience in high-volume call centers with KPIs and measurable goals preferred.
• Active adjusters license preferred; training and exam fees are provided.
• College degree preferred.

Responsibilities
