About The Position
Kemper is hiring an Auto Liability Adjuster Trainee to investigate and resolve auto liability claims while delivering customer service. The role includes formal claims training and other selected training programs. Travel may be required during training. Employees must maintain passing averages in formal courses, meet position competency standards, and receive a performance evaluation of “Meets Expectations” or higher. State licensing exams are required for the states handled, and employees must meet any applicable state deadlines for obtaining a license.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, or at least 1 year of insurance experience, or 3 years of equivalent professional experience.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Proficient typing and computer skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Bilingual skills.
Responsibilities
- Take statements from insureds, claimants, and witnesses.
- Obtain and review evidence, reports, and medical records.
- Investigate losses and identify coverage issues.
- Negotiate settlements with claimants and claimants’ attorneys.
- Research state laws and medical terms.
- Attend Basic Claims training and other training programs selected for the employee; travel may be required during training.
- Maintain passing averages in formal courses and an acceptable level of position competencies.
- Achieve a formal performance evaluation rating of “Meets Expectations” or higher.
- Complete required state licensing exams and comply with applicable deadlines for obtaining licenses.
