About The Position

Kemper is hiring an Auto Liability Adjuster Trainee to investigate auto claims and provide customer service. The role includes formal claims training and other selected programs of study; travel may be required during training. Employees must maintain a passing average in formal courses, maintain an acceptable level of job competencies, and receive a performance evaluation of “Meets Expectations” or higher. State licensing exams are required for the states handled, and employees must meet any state-specific deadline for obtaining a license.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, or at least 1 year of insurance experience, or 3 years of equivalent professional experience.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Proficient typing and computer skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Maintain a passing average in formal training courses and an acceptable level of competencies.
• Pass required state licensing exams and obtain licenses within applicable state deadlines.

• Bilingual ability.

Responsibilities

• Take statements from insureds, claimants, and witnesses.
• Obtain and review evidence, reports, and medical records.
• Investigate losses and identify coverage issues.
• Negotiate settlements with claimants and claimant’s attorneys.
• Research state laws and medical terms.
• Attend Basic Claims training and other selected training programs.
• Maintain passing averages in formal courses and an acceptable level of job competencies.
• Meet the applicable state licensing requirements and deadlines.
