About The Position

Kemper is hiring an Auto Liability Adjuster Trainee in McAllen, Texas. The trainee investigates auto liability claims, reviews evidence and records, assesses coverage, and negotiates settlements. The role includes attending Basic Claims training and other assigned training programs. Travel may be required during training. Employees must maintain passing averages in formal courses, meet position competency standards, earn at least a “Meets Expectations” rating on formal performance evaluations, and pass required state licensing exams within applicable deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, or at least 1 year of insurance experience, or 3 years of equivalent professional experience.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Proficient typing and computer skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Pass required state licensing exams and meet applicable state licensing deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Take statements from insureds, claimants, and witnesses.
• Obtain and review evidence, reports, and medical records.
• Investigate losses and identify coverage issues.
• Negotiate settlements with claimants and claimant attorneys.
• Research state laws and medical terms.
• Attend Basic Claims training and other assigned training programs.
• Maintain passing averages in formal courses and the required level of position competencies.
• Meet performance expectations in formal evaluations.
• Complete required state licensing exams and comply with applicable licensing deadlines.
