About The Position

DARCARS Collision Center of Baltimore is hiring an Auto Body Shop Estimator to inspect and appraise customer vehicles, determine repair costs, and support repairs billed to insurance or paid for by customers. The role works directly with customers and insurance companies to help ensure a smooth repair process and provide excellent customer service. The estimator examines vehicle damage, prepares repair estimates, helps manage insurance claims, explains estimates and expected vehicle return timing, checks completed repairs for quality, and prepares final invoices that match approved estimates. Other duties may be assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

At least 3 years of previous automotive estimator experience.
Knowledge of major insurance program protocols and ability to upload estimates and images that meet applicable standards.
I-CAR or other industry training history.
High school degree or equivalent.
At least 18 years of age.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to pass a pre-employment background screen.

Nice To Haves

Prior estimator experience is highly preferred.
Automotive certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

Examine customer vehicles for structural, body, mechanical, or interior damage.
Estimate repair costs, including supplies, parts, and labor.
Calculate customer payments, including deductibles for repaired items.
Manage customer claims by obtaining insurance estimates and reviewing them with insurance adjusters.
Explain estimates and expected vehicle return timing to customers.
Maintain high-quality repairs and minimize comebacks.
Conduct spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.
Reconcile and prepare final invoices that match approved estimates.
Perform other duties as directed by a supervisor.
