About The Position

Carvana is seeking Auto Body Preppers with at least 6 months of professional automotive prepping experience. The role prepares vehicles for paint by sanding, masking, taping, bagging, unbagging and tearing down, and buffing. Technicians work with state-of-the-art tools in a high-tech vehicle Inspection Center. For entry-level hires, Carvana offers training programs intended to help skills and pay progress with the company. The position is part of Carvana’s vehicle reconditioning operation, where vehicles are inspected, perfected, and photographed before being listed on the Carvana website. Applicants must be at least 18, have a valid driver’s license, be able to read, write, speak, and understand English, and pass a complete background check. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Requirements

At least 6 months of professional automotive prepping experience.
Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools and lift up to 60 pounds independently.
At least 18 years of age and a valid driver’s license; some positions may be subject to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing production environment, sometimes exposed to excessive heat or cold.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Successful completion of a complete background check.
Ability to work mandatory overtime based on business needs.

Responsibilities

Prepare vehicles for paint, including sanding, masking, taping, bagging, unbagging and tear down, and buffing.
Work in a fast-paced, changing production environment and work mandatory overtime when required by business needs.
Use required safety equipment, which may include a face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, a mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
