About The Position

The Authorization Representative I at BioPlus Specialty Pharmacy completes and submits forms for patients whose health plans require drug re-authorizations for different therapy types. The role enters re-authorizations into portals, checks forms for accuracy, submits forms to insurance plans, tracks submissions, and follows up on approval or denial status with insurance companies or physician offices. The position follows a Monday–Friday schedule and uses a hybrid arrangement requiring associates to work in the office 1–2 days per week. Candidates must live within reasonable commuting distance of a listed office unless an accommodation is granted as required by law. BioPlus Specialty Pharmacy is part of Elevance Health and provides specialty medication access, clinical expertise, digital capabilities, and personalized support during consumers’ treatment journeys.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of experience processing pharmacy prior authorizations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

Specialty pharmacy experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Enter re-authorizations into portals and ensure re-authorization forms are completed accurately.
Submit completed re-authorization forms to the appropriate insurance plans.
Maintain a log of all submitted re-authorizations.
Follow up with patients’ insurance companies or physician offices by phone, email, or spreadsheets to determine approval or denial status.
