About The Position
Granite State Independent Living is hiring per diem Attendant Care Employees in Pembroke, New Hampshire. The role provides compassionate, in-home and community-based support to consumers, helping them maintain independence. Schedules are set by consumers and range from 6 to 10 hours per week. Training on mechanical lifting devices is provided if necessary. Granite State Independent Living is a statewide nonprofit and New Hampshire’s only Center for Independent Living. Its work includes home care services, community-based disability supports, and employment services, with a focus on education, information, advocacy, support, and transition services for people with disabilities and underserved youth.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be able to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds or more.
- Must have adequate car insurance, if applicable.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, and eating.
- Provide in-home care.
- Assist with range-of-motion activities and exercises.
- Perform laundry, meal preparation, housekeeping, and organization tasks.
- Assist consumers with ambulation and transfers.
- Use mechanical lifting devices; training is provided if necessary.
- Remind consumers when it is time to take their medication.
- Support consumers in the community, including running errands.
