About The Position

Granite State Independent Living is hiring per diem Attendant Care Employees in Claremont, New Hampshire. The role provides compassionate, in-home and community-based support to consumers, helping them maintain independence. Schedules are set by consumers and range from 5 to 10 hours per week. Pay is $18.00 per hour.

The position includes support with activities of daily living, household tasks, mobility and transfers, exercises, medication reminders, and errands. Training in the use of mechanical lifting devices will be provided if necessary.

Granite State Independent Living is a statewide nonprofit and New Hampshire’s only Center for Independent Living. Its services focus on education, information, advocacy, support, and transition services for people with disabilities and underserved youth. GSIL delivers its mission through Home Care Services, Community-Based Disability Supports, and Employment Services, and is committed to personal choice and direction.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds or more.
• Must have adequate car insurance, if applicable.
• Must pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist consumers with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, and eating.
• Provide in-home care.
• Assist with range-of-motion activities and exercises.
• Perform laundry, meal preparation, housekeeping, and organization tasks.
• Assist with ambulation and transfers.
• Use mechanical lifting devices; training is provided if necessary.
• Remind consumers when it is time to take their medication.
• Support consumers in the community, including running errands.
