Attendant Care Employee - Dover NH
About The Position
Granite State Independent Living (GSIL) is hiring per diem Attendant Care Employees in Dover, New Hampshire. Attendant Care Employees provide compassionate, in-home and community-based support to consumers, helping them maintain independence. Schedules are flexible and set by consumers, generally ranging from 20 to 30 hours per week. GSIL is a statewide nonprofit and New Hampshire’s only Center for Independent Living. Its services include education, information, advocacy, support, and transition services for people with disabilities and underserved youth. GSIL delivers its mission through Home Care Services, Community-Based Disability Supports, and Employment Services, and is committed to personal choice and direction.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be able to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds or more.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Adequate car insurance, if applicable.
- An LNA license is not required.
- A high school diploma is not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, and eating.
- Provide in-home care.
- Assist with range-of-motion activities and exercises.
- Do laundry, prepare meals, perform housekeeping, and help with organization.
- Assist consumers with ambulation and transfers.
- Use mechanical lifting devices; training is provided if necessary.
- Remind consumers when it is time to take their medication.
- Support consumers in the community, including running errands.
