About The Position
Granite State Independent Living (GSIL) is hiring per-diem Attendant Care Employees in Claremont, New Hampshire. The role provides compassionate in-home and community support to consumers, helping promote their independence. Schedules are set by consumers and range from 5 to 10 hours per week. Pay is $18.00 per hour. GSIL is a statewide nonprofit and New Hampshire’s only Center for Independent Living. Its work focuses on education, information, advocacy, support, and transition services for people with disabilities and underserved youth. GSIL provides services through its Home Care Services, Community-Based Disability Supports, and Employment Services, and is committed to personal choice and direction.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be able to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds or more.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Must have adequate car insurance if applicable.
- A high school diploma is not required.
- An LNA license is not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, and eating.
- Provide in-home care.
- Assist with range-of-motion activities and exercises.
- Perform laundry, meal preparation, housekeeping, organization, and related tasks.
- Assist consumers with ambulation and transfers.
- Use mechanical lifting devices; training may be provided if necessary.
- Remind consumers when it is time to take their medication.
- Support consumers in the community, including running errands.
