About The Position
Granite State Independent Living (GSIL) is hiring per diem Attendant Care Employees in Exeter, New Hampshire. The role provides compassionate support to consumers and promotes their independence through in-home care and community assistance. Schedules are set by consumers and may range up to 10 hours per week. The position pays $22.00 per hour. GSIL is a statewide nonprofit and New Hampshire’s only Center for Independent Living. It focuses on education, information, advocacy, support, and transition services for people with disabilities and underserved youth. GSIL delivers its mission through Home Care Services, Community-Based Disability Supports, and Employment Services, and is committed to personal choice and direction.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be able to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds or more.
- Must have adequate car insurance, if applicable.
- A Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) license is not required.
- A high school diploma is not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, and eating.
- Provide in-home care.
- Assist with range-of-motion activities and exercises.
- Do laundry, prepare meals, perform housekeeping, and help with organization.
- Assist with ambulation and transfers.
- Use mechanical lifting devices; training is provided if necessary.
- Remind consumers when it is time to take their medication.
- Support consumers in the community, including running errands.
