About The Position

Granite State Independent Living (GSIL) is hiring per diem Attendant Care Employees (ACEs) in Exeter, New Hampshire. ACEs provide compassionate support to consumers and promote their independence through in-home care and community assistance. Schedules are set by consumers and may be up to 10 hours per week. An LNA license and high school diploma are not required. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, able to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds or more, and have adequate car insurance if applicable.

Granite State Independent Living is a statewide nonprofit and New Hampshire’s only Center for Independent Living. Its work focuses on education, information, advocacy, support, and transition services for people with disabilities and underserved youth. GSIL delivers its mission through Home Care Services, Community-Based Disability Supports, and Employment Services, with a commitment to personal choice and direction.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds or more.
• Must have adequate car insurance, if applicable.
• An LNA license is not required.
• A high school diploma is not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, and eating.
• Provide in-home care.
• Assist with range-of-motion activities and exercises.
• Perform laundry, meal preparation, housekeeping, and organization tasks.
• Assist consumers with ambulation and transfers.
• Use mechanical lifting devices; training is provided if necessary.
• Remind consumers when it is time to take their medication.
• Support consumers in the community, including running errands.
