About The Position
Granite State Independent Living (GSIL) is hiring per diem Attendant Care Employees in Penacook, New Hampshire. The role provides compassionate in-home and community support to consumers, helping promote their independence. Schedules are flexible and set by consumers; the posting does not specify the number of weekly hours. GSIL is a statewide nonprofit and New Hampshire’s only Center for Independent Living. Its work focuses on education, information, advocacy, support, and transition services for people with disabilities and underserved youth. GSIL delivers its mission through Home Care Services, Community-Based Disability Supports, and Employment Services, and emphasizes personal choice and direction.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be able to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds or more.
- Must have adequate car insurance, if applicable.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, and eating.
- Provide in-home care.
- Assist with range-of-motion activities and exercises.
- Help with laundry, meal preparation, housekeeping, and organization.
- Assist with ambulation and transfers.
- Use mechanical lifting devices; training is provided if necessary.
- Remind consumers when it is time to take medication.
- Support consumers in the community, including running errands.
