About The Position
Granite State Independent Living (GSIL) is hiring per diem Attendant Care Employees in Plymouth, New Hampshire. In this role, you will provide compassionate support to consumers and promote their independence through in-home care and assistance in the community. Schedules are set by consumers and range from 10 to 20 hours per week. The position pays $18.00 to $22.00 per hour. GSIL is a statewide nonprofit and New Hampshire’s only Center for Independent Living. Its five core services are education, information, advocacy, support, and transition services for people with disabilities and underserved youth. GSIL delivers its mission through Home Care Services, Community-Based Disability Supports, and Employment Services, and is committed to personal choice and direction.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be able to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds or more.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Must have adequate car insurance, if applicable.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, and eating.
- Provide in-home care.
- Assist with range-of-motion activities and exercises.
- Perform laundry, meal preparation, housekeeping, organization, and related tasks.
- Assist consumers with ambulation and transfers.
- Use mechanical lifting devices; training is provided if necessary.
- Remind consumers when it is time to take their medication.
- Support consumers in the community, including running errands.
