About The Position

Granite State Independent Living is hiring per diem Attendant Care Employees in Plymouth, New Hampshire. The role provides compassionate in-home and community support to consumers while promoting their independence. Schedules are set by consumers and range from 10 to 20 hours per week. Training on mechanical lifting devices is provided if necessary.

Granite State Independent Living is a statewide nonprofit and New Hampshire’s only Center for Independent Living. Its services include home care, community-based disability supports, and employment services, with a focus on education, information, advocacy, support, and transition services for people with disabilities and underserved youth.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds or more.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Adequate car insurance, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Support activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, and eating.
• Provide in-home care.
• Assist with range-of-motion activities and exercises.
• Do laundry, meal preparation, housekeeping, and organization.
• Assist consumers with ambulation and transfers.
• Use mechanical lifting devices; training is provided if necessary.
• Remind consumers when it is time to take their medication.
• Provide community support, including running errands.
