About The Position

Granite State Independent Living (GSIL) is hiring per diem Attendant Care Employees in Bristol, New Hampshire. The role provides compassionate, in-home and community support to consumers, helping them maintain independence. The position starts at approximately 6 hours per week, with scheduling determined by the consumer. Optional additional hours may be available as consumer needs change or through work with other consumers.

GSIL is a statewide nonprofit and New Hampshire’s only Center for Independent Living. Its services include home care, community-based disability supports, and employment services, grounded in education, information, advocacy, support, and transition services for people with disabilities and underserved youth. GSIL states that more than 51% of its board and staff are people with disabilities and that it is committed to personal choice and direction.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds or more.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Adequate car insurance is required if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, and eating.
• Provide in-home care.
• Assist with range-of-motion activities and exercises.
• Perform laundry, meal preparation, housekeeping, and organizational tasks.
• Assist consumers with ambulation and transfers.
• Use mechanical lifting devices; training is provided if necessary.
• Remind consumers when it is time to take their medication.
• Support consumers in the community, including running errands.
