About The Position

Granite State Independent Living is hiring per diem Attendant Care Employees in Keene, New Hampshire. The role provides compassionate in-home and community-based support to consumers, helping them maintain independence. Schedules are flexible and set by consumers; the posting does not specify a number of weekly hours.

The role includes assistance with activities of daily living, household tasks, mobility, exercises, medication reminders, and errands. Training on mechanical lifting devices is provided if necessary. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, pass a criminal background check, and be able to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds or more. Adequate car insurance is required if applicable. An LNA license and high school diploma are not required.

Granite State Independent Living is a statewide nonprofit and New Hampshire’s only Center for Independent Living. Its work includes home care services, community-based disability supports, and employment services, guided by the principle of personal choice and direction.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds or more.
• Must have adequate car insurance if applicable.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• An LNA license is not required.
• A high school diploma is not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist consumers with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, and eating.
• Provide in-home care.
• Assist with range-of-motion activities and exercises.
• Do laundry, prepare meals, and assist with housekeeping and organization.
• Assist consumers with ambulation and transfers.
• Use mechanical lifting devices; training is provided if necessary.
• Remind consumers when it is time to take their medication.
• Support consumers in the community, including running errands.
