Associate Retail Travel Agent
About The Position
AAA Club Alliance is seeking an enthusiastic, sales-driven Associate Retail Travel Agent to help clients plan domestic and international travel, including cruises, land tours, flights, and hotels. The role is suited to people with strong sales and customer service skills, a willingness to learn, and comfort using technology. Travel professionals and people beginning their travel careers are encouraged to apply. The position provides structured training, coaching, mentorship, ongoing learning, and a path to advance to Retail Travel Agent and Senior Retail Travel Agent roles. A Certified Travel Associate (CTA) designation is required within two years of hire; the company covers the program and testing costs and provides paid time to complete the certification. Company-sponsored IATAN cards, travel discounts, personal travel opportunities, and paid educational trips are also offered. This is a full-time, 37.5-hour-per-week position at the AAA store at 178 W Streetsboro St #2, Hudson, OH 44236. The stated schedule is Monday 9 AM–6 PM, Tuesday–Friday 9 AM–5 PM, and Saturday 9 AM–12 PM, with Sundays off. Starting base compensation is $15.54–$20.00 per hour, adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. The position is also eligible for monthly incentive pay averaging $550–$1,100 after approximately six months of employment.
Requirements
- At least one year of retail experience.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational ability.
- Proficiency with travel booking systems and web-based applications.
- Working knowledge of geography.
- Obtain the Certified Travel Associate (CTA) designation within two years of hire.
- Satisfactory pre-employment and post-employment screening results, including criminal, drug, and state and/or vendor-specific screenings.
- Ability to obtain a necessary Membership license or other licenses required to perform the essential functions of the position.
Nice To Haves
- An associate degree or graduation from a travel school.
- At least one year of experience as a retail/leisure travel agent or comparable travel experience.
Responsibilities
- Create domestic and international travel experiences, including cruises, land tours, flights, and hotels.
- Use personal travel experiences to inspire and guide clients.
- Build long-term client relationships and encourage repeat business.
- Use AAA’s travel strategy to support sales success and achieve sales goals.
- Process bookings, payments, and travel documentation in compliance with ARC, DOT, and AAA policies.
- Educate clients about AAA benefits, including exclusive travel perks and the AAA-branded credit card.
- Resolve client concerns under management guidance.
- Attend promotional events, training, and familiarization trips.
