About The Position

As an Associate Manager at Madewell, you are a key member of the leadership team responsible for ensuring profitability by fostering genuine customer connections, brand loyalty, and community engagement. You provide immediate feedback and coaching to maximize team performance. You own a key area of the business while also stepping into other roles as needed to maintain operational excellence. You collaborate with the Store Director as a shared business owner, manage your designated division of responsibility, support store operations and team development, and help create a collaborative environment that delivers best-in-class customer service.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of full-time retail management experience with a similar scope.
• Passion for supporting the brand, customers, and teams.
• Stay current with fashion trends and industry developments.
• Demonstrate teamwork, flexibility, and courtesy when executing tasks.
• Innovate and champion new ideas while navigating uncertainty and using strong problem-solving skills.
• Have scheduling flexibility, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Bend, reach, and stretch for product, and lift, carry, and move at least 40 pounds (18 kilos).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Store Director as a shared business owner and contribute to all aspects of the brand while maximizing profitability.
• Own a designated division of responsibility, such as Visual Merchandising, Operations, HR, or Service & Selling.
• Manage store operations, systems, and technology while ensuring accountability.
• Support the Store Director with recruiting, training, and development efforts.
• Partner with the Store Director and management team to create a collaborative working environment for associates.
• Keep the team on track to exceed goals and provide best-in-class customer service.
• Develop innovative ways to engage the community and build loyalty through events.
• Step into a variety of sales-floor roles when needed.
• Provide immediate feedback and coaching to maximize team performance.
