About The Position

As an Associate Manager at Madewell, you are a key member of the leadership team, responsible for supporting profitability through genuine customer connections, brand loyalty, and community engagement. You provide immediate feedback and coaching to maximize team performance. You own a designated area of the business while stepping into other roles as needed to maintain operational excellence. You partner with the Store Director and management team to support store operations, team development, customer service, and community engagement.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of full-time retail management experience with a similar scope.
• Passionately support the brand, customers, and teams.
• Stay current with fashion trends and industry developments.
• Demonstrate teamwork, flexibility, and courtesy while executing tasks.
• Innovate and champion new ideas, navigate uncertainty, and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
• Have scheduling flexibility, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Bend, reach, and stretch for products, and lift, carry, and move at least 40 pounds (18 kilos).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Store Director as a shared business owner, contributing to all aspects of the brand while maximizing profitability.
• Own a designated division of responsibility, such as Visual Merchandising, Operations, HR, or Service & Selling.
• Manage store operations, systems, and technology while ensuring accountability.
• Support the Store Director with recruiting, training, and development efforts.
• Partner with the Store Director and management team to create a collaborative working environment for associates.
• Keep the team on track to exceed goals and deliver best-in-class customer service.
• Develop innovative ways to engage the community and build loyalty through events.
• Step into a variety of sales-floor roles as needed.
• Provide immediate feedback and coaching to maximize team performance.
