About The Position

This is a continuous recruitment posting for Associate Lecturer/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer positions within the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP). While there may not be an immediate need, applications are accepted to build a pool of candidates for future part-time opportunities. Successful applicants will be considered for courses on a per-semester basis, with no guarantee of assignment in subsequent semesters. Teaching loads will vary between 1-12 credits per semester. Although listed as on-site, partially remote and remote opportunities may become available. The Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies aims to equip students with skills for diverse careers by fostering logical and critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and effective cross-cultural communication, preparing them for global citizenship and professional adaptability.

Requirements

M.A. in Philosophy, Religious Studies, or related field.
Experience teaching introductory courses typically offered as part of the general education program and relevant to a department such as Philosophy and Religious Studies.

Nice To Haves

Ph.D. in Philosophy, Religious Studies, or related field.

Responsibilities

Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction.
Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations.
Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance.
