About The Position

This is a continuous recruitment posting for Associate Lecturer/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer positions within the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP). Applications are accepted to build a pool of candidates for future part-time opportunities. Successful applicants will be considered for future needs and their application will be kept on file. Lecturers are hired on a per-course basis each semester, with a teaching load ranging from 1-12 credits per semester. While the posting indicates an on-site position, partially remote and remote opportunities may be available. The Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies aims to equip students with knowledge and skills for diverse career paths, fostering logical and critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and effective cross-cultural communication, preparing them to be global citizens and leaders.

Requirements

  • M.A. in Philosophy, Religious Studies, or related field
  • Experience teaching introductory courses typically offered as part of the general education program and relevant to a department such as Philosophy and Religious Studies

Nice To Haves

  • Ph.D. in Philosophy, Religious Studies, or related field

Responsibilities

  • Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction.
  • Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations.
  • Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance.
