About The Position

The Associate I, Retail Sales Floor ensures the sales floor is well stocked, organized, presentable, and clean, including restrooms. The role involves bringing processed clothing to the sales floor, merchandising products to standards, and interacting with customers by answering questions and providing excellent service. The associate may also help identify and pull e-commerce products, communicate floor needs to the manager on duty, and cross-train or provide backup in other areas as required.

The position requires meeting productivity standards and following Goodwill pricing, retail center, and safety standards. The work schedule may vary and can include weekends, evenings, holidays, and occasional overtime. Part-time positions are available; applicants are asked to describe their availability.

Requirements

• Attention to detail and ability to make decisions.
• Ability to use basic technologies to follow company standards.
• Ability to use judgment to assess product quality and value and determine pricing, including researching value as needed.
• Ability to see color and use judgment to assess product quality and value and determine pricing.
• Effective communication with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
• Ability to work a varied schedule that may include weekends, evenings, holidays, and occasional overtime.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of retail experience preferred.
• Prior visual merchandising experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed productivity standards and key performance indicators for assigned duties.
• Apply Goodwill pricing standards based on product quality and value, researching items when needed using the internet or company tools.
• Keep the sales floor clean and organized by cleaning and arranging shelves and racks, picking up items, and returning products to their proper places.
• Merchandise sales floor products according to category, color, and size, and adjust product placement to improve the shopping experience and increase sales.
• Communicate targeted sales-floor product needs to the manager on duty to assist production.
• Provide excellent service to customers and staff, follow the 10-foot rule, and answer product questions.
• Rotate or remove old and unsold products from the sales floor in a timely manner.
• Identify and pull e-commerce products from the sales floor.
• Follow retail center policies, procedures, and safety practices.
• Cross-train in other departments or areas and provide backup as required.
• Take on additional responsibilities as needed.
