About The Position

The Associate I, Retail Sales Floor ensures the sales floor is well stocked, organized, clean, and presentable. The associate brings processed clothing and other products to the floor, merchandises items to standards, and helps keep shelves, racks, and customer areas orderly. The role involves assisting customers, answering questions, and providing excellent customer service. The associate also supports product pricing and evaluation, coordinates floor needs with production and the manager on duty, and identifies and pulls products for E-Commerce. Responsibilities may extend beyond the listed duties and may include cross-training or providing backup in other areas.

Requirements

• Ability to use basic technologies to follow company standards.
• Ability to use judgment to assess product quality and value and determine pricing, researching value as necessary.
• Ability to see color.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
• Ability to work a varied schedule that may include weekends, evenings, and holidays, with occasional overtime.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of retail experience.
• Prior visual merchandising experience.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed productivity standards and assigned key performance indicators.
• Price products in accordance with Goodwill standards for quality and value, using internet research or company tools and standards when appropriate.
• Keep the sales floor clean and organized by cleaning and organizing shelves and racks, picking up items, and putting away products from racks, carts, baskets, or returns.
• Merchandise sales floor products according to category, color, and size standards, and make decisions about product placement to improve the shopping experience and increase sales.
• Communicate targeted product needs for the sales floor to the manager on duty to assist production.
• Provide customer service to customers and staff, follow the 10-foot rule, and answer product questions as needed.
• Rotate or remove old or unsold products from the sales floor in a timely manner.
• Identify and pull products from the sales floor for E-Commerce.
• Follow retail center policies, procedures, and safety processes.
• Cross-train in other departments or areas and provide backup as required.
• Maintain overall cleanliness of the sales floor and restrooms.
