About The Position

The Associate I, Retail Sales Floor ensures the sales floor is well stocked, organized, clean, and presentable. The Associate interacts with customers, responds to their needs, answers product questions, and provides excellent customer service. Duties include merchandising and organizing products, assessing product quality and value for pricing, rotating unsold items, and identifying and pulling e-commerce products from the sales floor. The role may also involve cross-training in other departments and providing backup support as needed. This is a part-time position at the Powers Store, pays $16.51 per hour, and may require a varied schedule that includes weekends, evenings, holidays, and occasional overtime.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of retail experience preferred.
• Attention to detail and ability to make decisions.
• Ability to use basic technologies to follow company standards.
• Ability to use judgment to assess product quality and value and determine pricing, including researching value when necessary.
• Ability to see color and assess product quality and value.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
• Ability to work a varied schedule that may include weekends, evenings, and holidays, with occasional overtime.
• Ability to perform the physical demands described, with reasonable accommodations where applicable.

Nice To Haves

• Prior visual merchandising experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed productivity standards and key performance indicators for assigned duties.
• Price items according to Goodwill standards for product quality and value, researching item values online or with company tools when needed.
• Keep the sales floor clean and organized by cleaning shelves and racks, picking items up from the floor, putting away products, and returning unwanted items to their proper places.
• Merchandise products to standard by category, color, and size, and make decisions about product placement to improve the shopping experience and increase sales.
• Communicate targeted sales-floor needs to the manager on duty to assist production.
• Provide excellent customer service to customers and staff, follow the 10-foot rule, and answer product questions as needed.
• Rotate or remove old and unsold products in a timely manner to refresh the selection.
• Identify and pull e-commerce products from the sales floor.
• Follow retail center policies, procedures, and safety processes.
• Cross-train in other departments or areas and provide backup support as required.
• Perform additional duties as required.
• Maintain cleanliness of the sales floor and restrooms.
