About The Position

The Associate Director, EM Infrastructure Support & Cybersecurity is responsible for the delivery, stability, and security of technology infrastructure that supports Global Enrollment Management and Student Success (GEMSS) systems and services. Oversee day-to-day infrastructure operations, stay updated and informed about emerging cybersecurity trends, risks, and best practices, recommend process improvements, ensure the reliability and performance of critical platforms, and advance cybersecurity practices in alignment with university standards and regulatory requirements. Partner closely with cross-functional IT teams, data and application owners, and GEMSS stakeholders to implement secure, scalable, and resilient solutions, while ensuring compliance with regulations, standards and fostering a culture of security awareness and governance; This includes driving proactive monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and continuous improvement efforts to safeguard systems and data. This position requires a strong balance of technical expertise, operational leadership, and risk management, with a focus on delivering high-quality, compliant, and secure technology services that enable institutional effectiveness and student success. Additional responsibilities include support for Albert SIS Portal, maintenance for Office of the University Registrar's public website and Account Request service. Supervise team members and promote cross-training to enhance knowledge sharing and continuity of operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related fields of study
  • 5+ years experience with web development
  • 2+ year(s) of PeopleSoft Interaction Hub & Campus Solutions 9.2 development experience and/or certification
  • Web experience must include standard development technologies, relational databases, and have an understanding of Object-oriented coding and best practices
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop is also required
  • Experience in cybersecurity compliance or general cybersecurity, including experience in developing and implementing cybersecurity policies, standards, or guidelines
  • Knowledge of (PHP, HTML, Perl, JavaScript, CSS, XML)
  • Knowledge of relational databases (Ex: Oracle, SQL Server, MYSQL, etc.)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage, collaborate with, and educate diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices, including a strong understanding of secure operations and risk mitigation
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience with IT asset management, including oversight of hardware assets such as laptops and desktops, including lifecycle management, tracking, and compliance
  • Experience implementing and managing access control processes and ensuring appropriate authorization and least-privilege access to systems and data

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or equivalent
  • 7+ years relevant experience
  • Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) practices, including incident, problem, and change management processes
  • Knowledge of data governance, data classification, and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., FERPA, HIPAA, GDPR where applicable)
  • Collaboration or participation with Security Review Boards or similar entities to ensure security controls are in line with institutional security policies and regulatory mandates
  • Proven ability to translate cybersecurity requirements for stakeholders
  • Experience working in higher ed
