Auction.com is seeking a part-time Associate Auction Coordinator to represent the company at live real estate auctions, traditionally held on courthouse steps. The role involves conducting, co-hosting, and otherwise participating in auctions; interacting with bidders; completing the tasks and processes necessary for successful auctions; and educating customers about participating in auctions and available resources. The territory is Roanoke, Virginia, with travel of up to two hours to surrounding county courthouse auctions as needed. A rental car is provided for travel outside the primary territory. The Area/State Manager assigns daily auctions according to scheduling needs, so the schedule must be flexible and adaptable. Auctions take place Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Each auction day generally requires three to four hours of work, and the position averages six to ten hours per week, though hours fluctuate and are not guaranteed. Required in-person and Zoom training sessions and team calls are also part of the role, with opportunities to earn additional compensation. The coordinator welcomes guests, gathers customer information, ensures pre-auction requirements are met, shares knowledge of Auction.com programs and customer resources, and provides customer service in a fast-paced environment. The role requires accurate handling of sensitive buyer and seller information, maintaining equipment and materials, completing receipts and event reports, and handling funds, including cash. The position also calls for professionalism with customers and courthouse staff, effective communication and networking, reliable attendance, and high-quality, efficient work with close attention to detail.
