About The Position

The Associate Auction Coordinator represents Auction.com at live real estate auctions, traditionally held on courthouse steps. The role involves conducting, co-hosting, or otherwise participating in auctions; interacting with bidders; completing required auction processes; and educating customers about how to participate. The position serves the Williamsburg/Newport News, Virginia territory, with travel to surrounding county courthouse auctions as needed. Travel may be up to two hours, and a rental car is provided for travel outside the primary territory. An Area/State Manager assigns daily auctions based on scheduling needs, so the position requires a flexible and adaptable schedule. Auctions take place Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Each auction day typically involves three to four hours of work, with an average of six to ten hours per week; hours fluctuate and are not guaranteed. In-person and Zoom training, team calls, and other learning resources are also part of the role, with opportunities to earn additional compensation. The coordinator welcomes attendees, collects customer information, and ensures pre-auction requirements are met. They provide customer service, share knowledge of Auction.com programs and resources, accurately enter sensitive buyer and seller information, handle funds and receipts, maintain equipment and materials, and complete event reports. The role requires professionalism with customers and event-site personnel, including deputies, government employees, and attorneys, as well as attention to detail, attendance, and participation in training and team calls.
